Rugby Score flattens 10 men Tiffs (06.10.2018)

With the Rain sodden pitches of New Malden, and with a ten man team cobbled together, Tiffs approached their first away game with the optimism of putting to bed the woes of the previous week’s 3-0 defeat at home.

As kick off approached and the strict orders of none encroach (on the pitch) the target practice in a net, half the size summed up what was to befall the brave boys.

However hope springs ever faintly and inside ten minutes, the Tiffs V’s struck with a clean strike deflected into the corner from Kev Doyle.

As the pressure passing on a drenched pitch fell on to the Tiffs 10, Old Tenisonians IV hit their stride with a beautiful cross finish and a superb strike into the top corner to give the home side the lead, with two more finishes before half time but the arrival of an 11th man, the Tiffs felt reassured of some way back.

However assurance fell away, with a couple of further strikes and a concussion befallen keeper the Tiffs slipped to an 8 goal deficit, before the response of two wonderful strikes by newcomer Josh Kerr and a beautiful strike straight from kick off on the stroke of full time by Wes Bishop gave the Tiff’s some confidence (a contender for goal of the season).

Old Tenisonians IV 10 – 5 Old Tiffs V’s
