OTFC Is v Old Sedcopians IIs (A)

Old Sedcopians II 2 - 0 OTFC Is

Old Tiffs gave a good account of themselves in New Eltham – finally succumbing to a strong and unbeaten Old Sedcopians IIs 2-0. Tiffs were under the proverbial cosh in the opening 45 minutes and mustered few chances… But, once Nutty, Rhys and Joe had settled in midfield, they were able to produce a couple of half chances of their own. John Edwards came closest from what should have been a glancing header, before the Tiffs went 1-0 down from a 20 yard drive.

With debutant Alex making inroads in the second half the Purps had an extended spell of pressure in the opposition’s territory but failed to find the Sedcopians onion bag. Matthews went closest with a free kick and Nutty’s effort from the resulting corner was charged down. All told, the T’s gave a very respectable account of themselves and earned their post match beers. Nutty, Rhys and the ever dependable Fuse earned a split vote MotM award for solid showings and the scoreline was made overly flattering by a controversial late second – Seb Rose enjoying a brief soiree into no-man’s land before watching the ball drilled into his bottom corner.

Overall, a hard-earned 0 points for Tiffs who were unlucky to not take something back West from the ignominious surroundings in New Eltham.
