Old Meadonians 3 – 0 OTFC IV

Ah, Old Meadonians away. You know what to expect; pitches covered in golf balls and goose excrement, the roar of the Heathrow flight path, not the best changing rooms and a tough game of football. And so it proved on this grey and drizzly sort of a day.

Tiffs were 2-0 down within the first 15 minutes. Both were scrappy goals conceded from set plays. Old Meads then missed a penalty.

In the second half Tiffs occasionally flickered into life and created a few chances but were, on the whole, puzzlingly flat compared with previous performances.
A third goal for Old Meads mid way through the second half – another set piece – was the final nail in the coffin.

And so Tiffs winning run in the league came to an end. This will go down as a bad day at the office. Nicely summed up by spectator Euan Shields getting a vote for man of the match.
